Trusted Enrollment Agent What is a Trusted Enrollment Agent? A Trusted Enrollment Agent is assigned to identify persons seeking electronic identity credentials. Trusted Enrollment Agents — or TEAs — will be assigned to travel to businesses. The TEA will then be asked to identify an electronic identity credential applicant or applicants in person following the policies of the electronic identity credential issuer. Depending on the requirements of the client, the TEA will obtain signatures on one or more documents, perform a notarization and either courier the documents to an overnight delivery service or fax them directly to the client.
